Taylor Swift is an American singer-songwriter, actress and music video director.

The release of her first album, Taylor Swift (2006), launched her career in North America in the country genre when she was only sixteen years old. His second album, Fearless (2008), became the best-selling album in the United States in 2009 and the artist launched his first international tour, the Fearless Tour. The album won four Grammy Awards, including Album of the Year, making Taylor Swift the youngest artist to win the award. His third album, Speak Now (2010), was also a success and the prelude to a world tour of more than a hundred concerts.

In 2012, his fourth album, entitled Red, sold 1.2 million copies in his country upon its release. He moves away from country sounds to appeal to a broader and international audience. His fifth album 1989 (2014) topped sales charts in 78 countries and even became the best-selling album in one week in his country since Eminem's The Eminem Show in June 2002. The two big hits from the album are Shake it Off and Blank Space. Her sixth album, Reputation (2017), makes Taylor Swift the only artist in history to consecutively sell four albums with more than a million copies, the week of their release, in her country. In 2019, her seventh album, Lover, also topped the American charts and allowed her to become the most awarded artist in the history of the American Music Awards, beating Michael Jackson's record.

After successfully releasing two folk-style albums, Folklore and Evermore, in 2020, Taylor Swift is undertaking, from 2021, the re-recording of her first six albums to recover the rights. In 2024, his album The Tortured Poets Department enjoyed even more massive success when it was released.

In around fifteen years, Taylor Swift has gone from country star in the United States to one of the most influential popstars in the world, with growing success thanks in particular to a mastered marketing strategy8. Her cultural, but also economic and political, impact is recognized and commented on by the media, to the point that she becomes the first artist to be designated “personality of the year” by the American magazine Time in 2023.
