    The Clash are a British punk rock band from London, England. This is one of the major quartets in the history of British rock and punk rock. The group began its career in 1976 and disbanded in 1986. In 2003, the group entered the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

    Its most important figures are Joe Strummer and Mick Jones, both on guitar and vocals, as well as bassist Paul Simonon and drummer Topper Headon. The group's style, linked to the punk movement, is characterized by protest rock where the lyrics, "inhabited by an anarchist impulse", play a primordial role.
