Jethro Tull is a British rock band from Blackpool, England.

Formed in the second half of the 1960s, his music is marked by the very particular vocal style of leader Ian Anderson (a nasal but remarkably accurate voice), his unique work as a flutist, and by unusual and often complex song constructions.

The band's music incorporates elements of classical and Celtic music, blues (especially in its early days) as well as alternative art rock and progressive rock phases.

In 1988, the band won a Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Album of the Year.
Despite this, it is difficult to pinpoint specific artists who directly influenced or were influenced by Jethro Tull, whose work stands apart in the world of rock.
